Gmail stops “Send as” for your domains. Now what?
According to Google’s help center, from January 2027 Gmail will no longer fetch mail from other accounts via POP and will stop sending from third-party addresses. If you run your business mail through Gmail, your setup stops working. monomail connects your domain mailboxes directly over IMAP and SMTP, so you read and reply from every address in one inbox.
| monomail | Gmail (from 2027) | |
|---|---|---|
| Read mail from your own domains | Yes, direct IMAP | No POP fetching |
| Send as your domain address | Yes, via your own SMTP | Being removed |
| Several companies, one inbox | Yes, sorted by company | Separate accounts |
| AI summary of important mail | Yes | Partly, Google AI |
| Drafts in your own tone | Yes, you approve every draft | Generic suggestions |
No forwarding tricks
monomail talks to your mail server directly. Nothing has to pass through a Gmail account first.
Your addresses stay yours
Replies go out from your real server, so they look right to the recipient and pass spam checks.
Set up in minutes
Add each mailbox with its server details. Old mail stays where it is.
To be fair: If you only use one @gmail.com address and no own domain, this change does not affect you and Gmail stays a fine choice.
